Broadband Grant Opportunity
Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, $4.8 million is available through two programs, for eligible for-profit, non-profit and tribal organizations seeking to expand quality broadband service: the Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP) through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the related Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP) through the National Telecommunications and Information and Administration (NTIA). BIP will furnish grants or loans to rapidly expand the access and quality of broadband services across Rural America. The BTOP will make grants available to deploy broadband infrastructure in unserved and underserved areas, enhance broadband capacity at public computer centers, and promote sustainable broadband projects. Together, both programs will advance the objectives of the Recovery Act by creating jobs and stimulating economic growth. Optistreams can assist in preparing proposals for this opportunity. Opportunities to apply are expected in December, 2009 and again in April, 2010. Phone OptiStreams at (866) 745-7356 to explore this opportunity for your organization.
